I started to Dj in 1995, I got started spinning on turntables pretty soon afterwards I incorporated CD player into the mix. With the high record prices and the CD burner around the corner it seemed like the smart choice. Now with the Digital DJ era and software like Serato Scratch Live, Traktor Scratch and Ableton Live I’ve been able to use my turntables, CDJ’s and timecoded media to manipulate and play mp3’s off of a laptop with the same vinyl feel and more features than ever. With the transition to new technology I’ve had to put my CD’s and vinyl away on the back burner and rip a lot of my old records to mp3. Don’t get me wrong it’s always wise to bring a few CD’s to a gig just in case your laptop system fails you.
In my younger years you would see me spin at a few clubs and small events. As I got older I just didn’t' want to be working at the bar scene 3 to 4 nights a week. I started to get in tune with my remixing & production side and realized that I was good at that too. Now at the age of 30 and with around 15 years of experience Im building a studio where I can teach the younger generation in weeks what took me years to achieve.
